Good Morning! Today’s Bible Reading is –
7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. Matthew 7:7-11 (NLT)
I used to would have said that this asking has little to do with things, but in the asking for anything when you are truly in a relationship with God through Christ: God will give those things you truly need or show you that you don’t need what you are asking and give you what you really need. I heard a liberal saying we can’t be against both Abortion and Birth Control: yes we can because we understand the need for teaching Self-Control and responsibility… the purpose of sex is to reproduce and the responsible thing to do is to refrain from reproducing until there is a safe environment with a balanced influence of a committed man and woman as parents that will always be there for that child “Until Death do they Part”. Life is not about sex: when sex is the first thing, you don’t build any of the other necessary things that make a marriage relationship stand the test of… anything. When you remove that only purpose for being together there is nothing else to keep the partners together and the children produced are left to the ravages of this world with their “Safe Place” turned into a battleground with the only 2 people they were supposed to be able to trust at each other’s throats and using the children as hostages in their fight. You build the house and complete it before you move in – you build everything else including communication and love for each other then you marry and then sex is appropriate. So when we ask God for sexual fulfillment His response is to start building the things in us to make us a good marriage partner for someone else and He is with us as we build the house that the family will be safe in. Anything else is trying to have the icing with no cake to ice… bake the cake first! Anything we ask God for He sees the whole picture when we will only see the part directly in our view: the answer always has more to it than we see. Not giving up when what we ask for is not immediately given is the essence of true faith: when we ask God for anything we are about to learn things from the One that knows everything and be shown what we actually need and what those things are for and His design in it all. Those that skip all the right things and want the icing as their only goal: turn everything that is supposed to be special into something meaningless and worthless. Ask God and get all the right things because He is life’s Supreme Outfitter and knows every piece of equipment you need to make life work by His design: ask, seek, and knock.
Good Day and Godspeed!
