Good Morning! Today’s Bible reading is –
11 Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in.12 She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying.13 “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”14 She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. 15 “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.” 16 “Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (Which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).17 “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”18 Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have seen the Lord!” Then she gave them his message. John 20:11-18 (NLT)
You can understand how much someone loves a person by how they react to that person’s death: you can also see the hopelessness of a lost person that doesn’t know of the resurrection to come when they see that loved one dead. There was a cousin at my Grandpa’s funeral that had to be pulled from off the top of the casket: I was in deep mourning but her wailing shook me to the bone and a cold chill came over me… she accepted Christ a few years ago but the point is God let me understand at that time what was going on. Death is separation and separation is unbearable to love: that is why Jesus endured what he did so He, our Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit would no longer have to be separated from us. I understood when my Grandpa died that I would see him again and never be separated because I knew and still know Jesus who has promised to “Never leave nor forsake me” and He can keep that promise because He did what was necessary to pursue the relationship I now have with Him and now I follow Him and desire His presence in every breath; and with His Holy Spirit dwelling in my heart there is no way we will ever be separated for the rest of eternity.
I have been fussing because I bought an iPhone back in April and SIRI keeps trying to get me to interact with her…I have no use for a virtual female trying to tell me things so I have told her to “Leave Me Alone” and shamefully that is the mildest of my protests: but even in my worst moments and I understand the Holy Spirit is communicating with me my response is “Yes LORD.” Please don’t treat my God like I treat SIRI, SIRI doesn’t love you but God does. Christian folks; spending today seeking to interact with God pleases Him and like yesterday’s reading says, you will find Him.
Good Day and Godspeed!
