Good Morning! Today’s Bible reading is – 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14 (NLT)
Think of all the things that bother you, then think of how you feel when other people do those things to you and then belittle you for being upset about it… then don’t treat other people the ways you don’t want to be treated. Whether it is your spouse, your parents, a sibling or a stranger you are to treat them beyond the expectation of how you would expect them to treat you because that is how love works. Again we have 2 examples of relationships: Satan who wants to use, manipulate, torture and destroy us after he gets the use he wanted from us; and God Who even after we rejected and abused Him came to earth in the form of a Man and died on Calvary to pay the penalty of our rejecting Him so He could have a Relationship with us. When we deal with others, it is our nature to be selfish and want for ourselves at someone else’s expense: but as Christians we are to seek peace and pursue it and we are to love those within the reach of our influence with the same love that Christ has loved us with. Using high-powered cleaning chemicals for 22 years has done a number on my sinus cavities, throat and lungs because I didn’t wear a respirator when I was younger so I have very frequent headaches: so grouchy is usually my nature. I have to realize when dealing with other people that I need to put on a happy face and be nice even though I don’t feel like being nice: and before you try to say “Faking being Nice”… it’s not faking, it is giving people better than what my flesh is able by tapping into Christ’s love and walking in the Spirit instead of the flesh. When your head hurts and your stomach is upset because of the stuff your sinuses have fed it in your sleep: it is hard to step above what you feel and give what God says is right but that is what pursuing love is… what did Jesus bear to love you? In my latter years I have come to appreciate the fact that God hasn’t allowed anyone to get really close to me: He has always understood that I couldn’t live with the thought of someone else having to bear my sudden outbursts of rage and then being OK minutes later… because if they had to bear it they wouldn’t be OK even though I was over it. If I ever get married she will probably be a sweet, 10th degree black belt Ninja piano player… or somebody I love enough to not spill my bad thoughts in words upon. The closer the person is to you and the more time you spend with them the harder it is to throw away the bad feelings and pursue the good: but in the end whatever you give is what you are going to get back. People, God wants us to give what it is right because it is right: but remember you will always reap what you sow, and the yield will always be multiples of what you gave.
Good Day and Godspeed!
