Good Morning! Today’s Bible Reading is 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NLT)
“That I could still go free
What kind of man would reach down his hand and do this for me
Unworthy to live and not fit to kill
Yet a man on the cross put me in His will
And said that I could still go free”

Through Christ God took our punishment upon Himself and Love paid what no effort of fallen mankind could even approach. For the High Priest to make temporary atonement for sin he had to approach the symbol of God’s presence, the Ark of the Covenant, and sprinkle the blood of a lamb on the mercy seat between the Cherubim that guarded it. The priest couldn’t come close unless an innocent animal had already died the death that a sinful man approaching God’s presence would by his own nature experience. Even with that sacrifice applied to his account the job of daring to approach God was still very serious, the Ephod he wore had bells sewn into it and the Bible states the bells were for the purpose of telling the other priests outside of the Holiest of Holies that he was still alive and doing his appointed task: if the bells ceased they pulled the High Priest’s dead body out by the rope tied around his waist. None of that actually took away anyone’s sin, it did however say “I Believe what God said so I will do what He said do.” And the lot of it was a portrait and a symbolic map of what Christ would do for us on the Cross. Raising cattle I have come to understand through the process of the butchering of animals what the animal Sacrifices of the Tabernacle and Temple were about: death was introduced into this perfect world by unbelief and when mankind fell the whole world was put under death’s curse. Death of other living things is necessary for our temporary survival: we consume the life of other things just to survive another day…If I can see that Christ became the ultimate Sacrifice to restore my relationship to God permanently and eternally by His death on the cross through the death of a yearling bull to go into the freezer for our food… it seems the priests should have understood Who Jesus is and what He was doing there, and some did.
To understand what Christ has accomplished for us we need to understand the very Perfect nature of God and the total incompetency in our own selves to do anything to remedy our hopeless situation: and then see God coming to earth in the form of flesh in Christ for the sole purpose of healing our corruptness by taking our death upon Himself…it’s too big for our understanding to encompass but I can think of no better daily occupation than to engulf our thinking into those thoughts so those ideals will ooze forth from our very flesh by His nature that is put into us by His Holy Spirit’s indwelling within our very Souls! Meditate! Think well upon these things! Oh Yeah… now You Glowin’!
Good Day and Godspeed!
